Transgender Rights
Discrimination, harrasment, inequality, and victimization are till very much a reality for the trans community, for the sole fact that they are transgender. Trans Rights are Human Rights!

Rise in numbers

There has been an increased number of transgender people coming out in this new age. The acceptance of transgender people has risen, and more options have become available for the community. However, there is a large inequality for the community especially in the workforce and the healthcare world. Even though there is a lot of options for trans people, there are not treated equal to their cisgender counterparts, which needs to be changed!

Transphobia

The transphobia in the world outside the LGBTQ+ community has become very overwhelming, with the option for healthcare workers to refuse service to transgender people, and the constant misgendering and discrimination against trans people. there has even ben internalized trasphobia with talk of removing the T in LGBTQ+. These issues need to be addressed heavily as trans rights are human rights, and deserve the same treatment as everyone else.

Discrimination

Discrimination is dealt with on a daily basis for transgender people. Luckily a bill passed so that LGBTQ+ citizens cannot be discriminated agaisnt in the workplace, but that just passed in 2020 which took way to long to happen. However, healthcare can still be seen as discriminatory because trans people will have a hard time getting fully covered in order to start their transition if needed. Without coverage, surgeries and HRT can cost thousands of dollars, even when gender identity disorder is a diagnosable mental illness. Discrimination can even be found in housing! Some may not even be allowed to buy or rent a house because of their gender identity, when a cisgender person will not be denied due to theirs. These problems that trans people must face are becoming too outrageous.
